The structure doesn’t change, existing certificates stay valid, and you transition at a normal surveillance audit. We assess you against the current edition and flag what the revision will additionally expect, so the transition is a formality rather than a project. What we are, what you get, and how it works — briefly.
- What is Cornerstone9, in one sentence?
- A tool that builds and maintains the quality management system a 10–30 person company needs to pass an ISO 9001 audit — the part a consultant would normally charge several thousand for.
- So what do I actually get?
- Three things. An honest assessment of where you stand against all 56 requirements. The documents you are missing, drafted around how your business actually works. And the ongoing routine afterwards — internal audits, management reviews, calibration, corrective actions — tracked with reminders, because certification is not the end of the work.
- How does it work?
- You answer questions about how you run — in plain English, no clause numbers, about an hour, and you can upload an existing handbook instead of retyping it. We grade every requirement as covered, partial or missing, tell you which gaps an auditor would actually write up, then draft what is missing. You edit and approve everything before it counts.
- Do you use AI?
- Yes, and we would rather say so than have you find out. AI reads what you wrote and drafts documents in your own vocabulary. It does not decide your score — that is calculated from fixed rules, so the same answers always give the same result. Every draft is watermarked until a human approves it, every AI action is logged, and there is a disclosure page you can hand an auditor showing exactly what was generated and who signed it off.
- Is a document an AI wrote acceptable to an auditor?
- An auditor cares whether your quality system is real, understood and followed — not who typed it. What fails an audit is a folder of generic procedures nobody recognises. That is the actual risk with templates, and it is why drafts are built from your answers and why nothing is final until you have reviewed it.
- Are you a certification body?
- No, and we could not be. The audit has to come from an independent certification body, and that independence is the entire value of the certificate. We prepare you for it. Anyone offering to both prepare and certify you is selling something worth less than it looks.
- What does it cost?
- Not finally decided, which is part of why the list exists. It will be far below a consultant, and the people on the list hear the number first.
- Will it fit my business?
- It is built for 10–30 person manufacturers and service companies going for generic ISO 9001. If you need a sector scheme — IATF 16949 for automotive, ISO 13485 for medical devices, AS9100 for aerospace — those add requirements this does not cover, and we would rather tell you now.
What this is, and what it isn’t
Cornerstone9 is a preparation tool. It gets your quality management system built, documented and maintained so that when an independent certification body sends an auditor, there is something real for them to audit.
It is not a certification body. It does not issue certificates, and it does not replace the third-party audit — that audit is the whole point, and it stays independent.

- Not sector schemes. IATF 16949, ISO 13485 and AS9100 add requirements this product does not cover.
